3. And it's almost New Year again! For 2011, Jakarta New Year Concert will be held at the Auditorium of Museum Nasional (Jl. Medan Merdeka, walking distance from the National Monument or the Presidential Palace). It will take place on Sunday, 9th of January 2011 at 4 p.m . This time the program is "Pianississimo 2", a kind of "sequel" of the JNYC 2 years ago, "Pianississimo", but more spectacular! There will be 4 pianos on stage, and winners and finalists of Ananda Sukarlan Award 2010 will all be there, to perform Ananda's fascinating new work "Vivaldi's Winter of Discontent", a kind of "remix" from Vivaldi's music from The Four Seasons to update it to this era of global warming and climate changes. All kinds of piano music, from music for 4 hands on 1 piano to music for 6 pianists will be performed. We also have invited Indonesia's legendary duo pianists, Latifah Kodijat and Charlotte Panggabean to perform 4-hand piano works.
Museum Nasional has undergone a "facelift" to rise to the occasion. There will be exhibitions too starting on the 1st of January. More details coming up thru facebook or Ananda Sukarlan's twitter account (@anandasukarlan) or our website www.musik-sastra.com
